Hilton experience report

  • Employee

very messed up place

1.00

Company Culture

union - you can't move up as a bartender
the older bartenders can't see, can't hear , take 5 breaks make the bar porters do all the work and they barely tip them . high turn over for bar porters

Support from management

their hands are tied because of the union

Teamwork

the senior workers are very selfish and will take advantage of the newbies

Freedom to work independently

no

Internal Communication

management usually last only 2 years
stressful job
when you have concerns , they say their hands are tied because of the union

Work-Life Balance

horrible for new employees
you have to put hilton before family
all other hotels on island is better work environment

Suggestions for improvement

  • evaluate all senior employees , regarding the way they treat new employees they should be able to read their tickets and hear their customers senior employees shouldn't be able to clock out before banquet hall is cleaned and receive same tip from banquet . re-evauate union and why management is so hesitant to put quality of guest experience above senior employees that is not able to physically and mentally to provide a quality experience to guest. management is scared to union

What I like about the company

other hiltons have a better work environment . but the hilton hawaiian village really need help
