What I like about the company

Every once in a while there'd be enough down time for me to get some reading done.

What I dislike about the company

Low pay (starting barely above minimum wage) with little/no increase in pay for increases in responsibility/workload; expensive healthcare plan with almost no coverage; no other benefits whatsoever; long hours of strenuous work using old or downright broken equipment which the company refused to replace; very little productive communication with upper management; openly hostile towards women, minorities, and LGBT people

Was told I could not leave work for a family emergency.

2 PLANTS OUT 12 HAVE NOT SUFFERED LOST TIME ACCIDENTS (HATTIESBURG BEING ONE) THE REST HAVE SUFFERED NEAR FATALITIES AND LOSS OF LIMBS DUE TO POOR TRAINING AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • LOSE THE GENDER BIAS. INVEST IN SAFETY AND THE EMPLOYEES. EMBRACE THE 21ST CENTURY

IT PAYS MARGINALLY BETTER THAN MY LAST JOB

What I dislike about the company

BIASED AGAINST WOMEN, TENDENCY TO HIRE UNDOCUMENTED WORKERS; NO BENEFITS THAT ARE AFFORDABLE FOR FAMILY (ALTHOUGH THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT HAS A LOT TO DO WITH THAT); LITTLE TO NO CONCERN FOR EMPLOYEE WELFARE; WORKING 60-70 HRS A WEEK ON SALARY; NO RAISES IN 2 1/2 YEARS OF EMPLOYMENT AND THEIR IDEA OF A BONUS IS $50. REGARDLESS OF HOURS WORKED PREVIOUSLY SALARIED EMPLOYEES ARE EXPECTED TO MAKE UP ANY TIME TAKEN OFF FOR ANY REASON. COMPANY HAS NO INTEREST IN INNOVATION OR IMPROVEMENT- "THIS IS THE WAY WE'VE DONE IT FOR 50 YEARS" (ACTUAL QUOTE). THEY HAVE OFFICES THAT ARE STILL USING LEDGER BOOKS INSTEAD OF COMPUTERS. NO ESTABLISHED POLICIES (AT LEAST NOT UNTIL YOU DON'T DO SOMETHING THE WAY THEY WANT).
