Lack of commincation
Yes the company will trust the managers right off the rip with the safe and multi-unit keys, but one will turn on you, as fast as you can run someone over with a bus and back it up and do it again.
Support from management
In my first week, all I did was bus tables, as a Manager in training. Once that was over, the paper training was intense, and this company did offer classes, which was nice, but it did take you away from the floor, where all you do is put out fires all day. One person to take care of 5 units, is a lot.
It was easy to get along with other Managers from other areas of the airport, but be cauious about your direct supervisor, trust no one.
Freedom to work independently
When you're managing 5 units, and your unit is understaffed, and the outlets are at their busiest, you have no time to do any paperwork.
One a daily basis, if the stores were not busy, you would have 5 min to have a pass along meeting, but this was rare. The structure really should have store leads, and let managers do what is expected.
I did not feel this position was fair, as no real explanation was given on why I was terminated.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Not very many senior employees were employed here due to the fact of alot of walking, thinking quick on your feet, or the fast paced nature of the positions.
A lot of training was offered, and if your Serve Safe was expired, they offered to renew it, this was a nice feature.

The pay was fair
Office / Work Environment
The office in the D-East Unit was or probably still is very small, very hard to have a Managers meeting at. The computers, were slow, very tight space.
Now, like any company I have worked for, as long as you give notice for an extra day, PTO, or vacation, its usually approved. But this is a union facility for non management, and that's always fun to deal with.
After one year of service, without any notice, I was terminated, no explanation, and the excuse that was given was from a minor incident 6 weeks prior. This company will lie to you to protect others, even when they are trying to give another manager your position.
No because there is along walk in/out of the airport and to units. You need to give yourself 30 min extra just to get where you need to be.
I was always proud to help my team get out of a busy food rush, that's fun, but at times you are left feeling helpess if you are pulled away to another unit, when you are needed. I think your revenue should dictate how much management you should have one duty at any one given time.
