Do not care about employees
Support from management
Management needs to train staff and give more positive feedback instead of just criticizing
Usually staff try a to help others but there's a lot of drama and backstabbing which management ignores or encourages
Freedom to work independently
Little management support. Unreasonable deadlines Autonomy is a positive but not when proper training is not implemented.
Management just gets angry when you make a mistake but doesn't give examples of what you did wrong so you end up very confused as to how to improve
Attitude towards older colleagues
Hire mostly young people. Do not encourage positive interaction with older staff. Allow younger staff to bully older staff members.
Overall compensation for your work
Determine ALL increases in pay on who they personally like the best not based on how effective you are at your job.
Office / Work Environment
Hostile, abusive, unreasonable. Management encourages backstabbing and tattlers. Very stressful environment.
They shred documents to ensure privacy but need to stop using so much paper. They are unnecessarilly killing a lot of trees.
They don't really care about your personal life. Forced to work a lot of overtime when it's convenient for them but then suddenly totally cut off ANY overtime and even when short staffed expect you to so your job and someone else's just as effectively.
Abusive, hostile, stressful
Constantly in fear of being fired. I was there 5 years and never felt my job was secure and I know most others felt the same way.
Verbally stressed it but did little to adjust to avoid mishaps. Usually if corporate was coming to visit forewarned everyone and cleaned up then.
Too challenging. Need more training and realistic deadlines.
Inclusive / Diverse
Never ask for your opinion and if you give suggestions even if they are positive they either ignore them and insult your intelligence Or implement them and take the credit.
Suggestions for improvement
- Training your staff, giving positive reinforcement and reasonable deadlines. Stop all the drama amongst office staff. Eliminate fear techniques in an attempt to motivate employees. All it does is make them angry and stifle their ability to work effectively. Encourage feedback, not just once a year at review time, but ongoing to see where changes need to occur. Make sure annual reviews of self assessment are personally reviewed with staff instead of just saying "if you're going to get a raise, it'll be on your check". Ridiculous, but thar's what happened last year. Make your GOOD employees feel appreciated. High turnover causes more stress, extra hours for everyone and a very poor work experience.
What I like about the company
Close to home. Short drive.
What I dislike about the company
Everything. Profit is important but employee happiness should also be a consideration. Management does not recognize or care about a job well done or someone going above and beyond. It gets you nowhere.
