Suggestions for improvement
- Bring the workplace into the 21st century. If you want to recruit to Austin, MN, you need to blow candidates away with benefits. I would start with 3-4 weeks vacation for new hires, 12 weeks paid parental leave for both parents, and a couple more holidays to better compete with nearby companies
What I like about the company
Company leadership prioritizes doing the right thing for the world and the communities the company operates in. Great retirement benefits, including pension and profit sharing. Medical, dental, and vision are above average. Job stability is great, going back to the company founder’s experience being laid off from his previous job.
What I dislike about the company
The vacation accrual structure and parental leave policy need some work as they are no longer comparable to peer companies. The expectation of being in the office at 7 AM is also ridiculous, especially given half the employees commute 40 miles across a winter wonderland to get there.
