Very sneaky and vindictive. Often asked to spy on field staff and report back to management. Company model is unrealistic.
Support from management
Extremely micromanaged. Management only concerned about quantity and not quality care. Company model is unrealistic.
Field staff is great. Work very well together in caring for patients and meeting their needs.
Freedom to work independently
Very little autonomy. Need to give play by play of day to management. Management often questioning your work day and forgetting that we are dealing with a sensitive population of people who should not be rushed.
Communication is poor. frequently changing policies and never providing written documents.
This company has their favorites.
Attitude towards older colleagues
No support whatsoever. Extremely short staffed and unrealistic expectations.
No training or support from management. You are only told when you make a mistake and then have to go in for an education.
Overall compensation for your work
Compensation is good. PTO is great. Medical benefits are awful.
Office / Work Environment
Very poor. Field staff has high caseloads. Documentation takes a very long time. Work days often extended to complete.
Company expects this job to be lifestyle. Forgets that we have families and lives outside of work. Shamed when a sick day is used. Often working overtime and mandated to work after hours and weekends.
Very poor morale. Field staff is great and patients really love them. Management is another story.
Hours can be cut at any given time.
The work itself can be very challenging but very rewarding. Caring for patients and their family members at the end of ones life is very special. Knowing that you are able to help those who are suffering is a wonderful feeling.
Suggestions for improvement
- Get a clue. Dying patients are not numbers. They deserve to be treated with dignity and given quality care. Listen to your field staff when they turn to you for help. Support your field staff. Higher more employees. Strive for excellence. Don't just try to meet the minimal requirements and fly under the radar. Respect your employees.
