Company Culture

Very political and it was a very disturbing hostile environment. It was made very clear to me that women ruled and were often favored for jobs instead of men.

Support from management

Nil! After team lead took a IT Manager position her position was not available to me and was promised to a woman. Management then chose to discredit my job performance only after two months of employment. Things changed and they didn't need me anymore and instead lay off they chose to fire me for unfounded reasons.

Internal Communication

Awful communications and the contractors spoke broken English.

They discriminate against men!

Attitude towards older colleagues

Absolutely no respect for older more experienced developer and had total disregard for millitary veterans.

No training was offered and no compensation for training was offered.

Overall compensation for your work

Salary was much less than market value.

Very hostile and always argumentative and insulting.

Challenging Work

As a trained SharePoint with more than ten years of experience and holding two degrees in web development, AA Internet & Web Development from Kaplan University and BSIT focus in web development from Colorado Technical University, the work was basic, very simple, and boring at best.

They only hire women and contractors from India.

  • They need to hire competent and skilled management individuals with a regionally accredited degrees.

  • District leaders need to become more familiar with current laws, and adjustments to district policy need to match the current commissioner’s rulings.

What I like about the company

Having the opportunity to share your expertise with coworkers and actually having the opportunity to implement changes

What I dislike about the company

District level leadership do not share the same information from one person to another. Get conflicting answers, that are sometimes not even correct from any of them.

  • I would require that ALL district level administrators and school administrators have a certain number of years of experience in the classroom before obtaining leadership positions. Experience makes a more effective leader.

What I like about the company

When I was a new employee, my fellow colleagues were a huge support. I was provided with the professional development I needed and loved the results that my progress and hard work on my students. Teaching is a very rewarding job, but a very difficult one. I would not recommend someone to teach if they do not have passion for it.

What I dislike about the company

The lack of financial support in the classroom. And sometimes discussions made by administration the hinders progress in the classroom.

It is way too large for one district, too many schools to juggle makes it difficult to get anything done at a reasonable pace.

  • Attrition is a big problem. I’m on my 6th principal in 9years.

What I like about the company

The people you work with are nice and are for the most part, dedicated. Senior management at the admin building have no clue what working at the campus level is all about though.

Sr. Admin has no clue what working at the campus level is about.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Closed toed shoes are a requirement and that has been a struggle. The pressure to work hard and create results. STAAR based learning.

What I like about the company

I love the other people I work with. Our principal allows for independent learning and teaching as long as she sees results. I am learning a lot from the other teachers and feel welcomed every day I am there.

What I dislike about the company

I do not like that there are so few men. I also do not like that sometimes we have to accept a position we are not willing to take.
