The attitude issues start from the top down.
Support from management
The chairman makes all the decisions and is not interested in anyone else's thoughts. Things are to be excepted his way or you are terminated.
There are some talented folks that have worked there and are still there. They work well together.
Open concept environment - it's awful! You can't hear yourself think while your neighbor is on his third conference call because there are only two conference rooms - that are never available!
It's a male dominated environment with little respect for the females.
Attitude towards older colleagues
I don't think the age of a person hired matters here. As for seniority at the company, that doesn't mean much. There is little appreciation shown towards their contributions.
Training is not supported.
Overall compensation for your work
Salaries are slightly low. Annual raises are about non-exisistant. Insurance cost is high. 401k just offered in 2015.
It's not discussed
For the most part vacation timing is reasonable - if you're not in Accounting!
The company is trying to grow even during the soft insurance market.
The office is located in a tower and meets ADA requirements. There has never been an ADA employee so I'm not sure how easily accessible things would be.
This an office. The company could invest in some errognomics equipment for their employees, i.e. Keyboard and mouse pads, descent chairs for none management staff.
A personal accomplishment - yes! An appreciation from the company and executive management - no! Nothing is ever good enough.
Inclusive / Diverse
No. Those opinions are not allowed.
Suggestions for improvement
- Invest in the employees - the company will profit in return.
What I like about the company
There are some talented people at the company.
What I dislike about the company
Executive managements' attitude is awful.
