Suggestions for improvement
- The company sometimes has a reactive instead of a proactive approach to some problems. Pilot shortages have wreaked havoc on the scheduling department. Scheduling has to use pilots who are running low on time with no other options. When asked about how this will affect scheduling later in the week, the typical response is that they will worry about it later. Usually ends up in a cancellation
What I like about the company
Home every night. Ability to use other airlines to travel anywhere in the world at a deeply discounted rate. Management interacts with employees and works hard to try to improve on any employee concerns and/or complaints. Profit sharing twice a year, coupled with the ability to work incentive shifts, provide a hefty bonus to your pay.
What I dislike about the company
Days are typically long for pilots. Average of 14 hours on the clock, coupled with 7 hours of flying, makes for an exhausting day. Shortening of shifts would greatly improve moral. Pilots are in high demand, and recruiting qualified pilots has been an extreme challenge for the company. Bringing on newer/larger aircraft would make the company more appealing to new pilots. A new aircraft is on the horizon for the company, but manufacturing and delivery has been slow and frustrating. The plans for the new aircraft should have been put in motion years ago.
