d43e54371fc7bc713439.jpgOur aim is to help more people live a better life at home. Bringing the IKEA Concept to life The IKEA Concept comes to life in many ways: Through our worldwide stores, in the IKEA catalog, via the web and apps, and most importantly in millions of homes around the world.

Every IKEA product has a story to tell. And like every good story, it starts with a great idea. What's ours? We want to make everyday life at home better. That's why we do thousands of home visits every year to learn more about peoples' needs and dreams. This is the starting point for every product we design.

For the many people The IKEA Concept starts with the idea of providing a range of home furnishing products that are affordable to the many people, not just the few. It is achieved by combining function, quality, design and value - always with sustainability in mind. The IKEA Concept exists in every part of our company, from design, sourcing, packing and distributing through to our business model.

What we offer

What is special about working for us?

3ca8f975adff7c961957.jpg

We're a diverse group of down-to-earth, straightforward people with a passion for home furnishing. We come from all over the world but we share an inspiring vision: “to create a better everyday life for the many people”. How we realize this vision is based on our shared humanistic values. These values are the foundation of our work and our inclusive, empathizing, open and honest culture.

How would we describe the company culture?

Working with us is like working with your friends. Our culture is based on the spirit of togetherness, enthusiasm and fun. And we're always looking for people who share our positive attitude and values.

The IKEA values help us to run our business, solve problems, and make clever decisions together. But we know we won't think exactly alike on everything - and that's okay! In fact, we encourage co-workers to express themselves and question our ways from time to time. At the end of the day, it's your individuality that can help us see and change things for the better.

What else should applicants know about us?

The founder of IKEA had a very powerful vision: to improve everyday life for the majority of people. Since the establishment of the first IKEA store almost 50 years ago, we have gone a very long way towards realizing this dream. A key success factor has been the recruitment of committed individuals who have shared the IKEA vision and pulled together to turn it into a reality. Today, IKEA has indeed become a very tangible reality! It is a worldwide organization employing thousands of people in many different countries. Literally every day IKEA reaches that bit further afield, which is why we need to continue finding and recruiting more committed individuals to join our organization.

Support from Management

generally clueless, talk a good game

Teamwork

frequent callouts and disappearing coworkers leave actual workers burned out, angry customers make it worse, and managers ignore it

Overall Compensation for your work

Too low given the hassles

Company Image

way overblown

Job security

They are desperate to keep anyone who will do a little work

Workplace Safety

Dangerous. Falling product, customers pushing carts with heavy loads while reading phone, kids playing in aisles and on fixtures, tired and distracted coworkers

Workplace Safety

Still one of the best retailers. Great benefits. The company is now driven more by profit than its core values. This is starting to have an impact on the work/shopping environment.
