Clients and co-workers are pleasant with an exception here and there but nothing out of the ordinary for a work place.
Felt like at times people avoided each other rather than become a solid team but there were good moments teamwork prevailed
Support from management
I do like to be more independant so to me less is better.
They would surely encourage teamwork and relying upon one another in short bursts then allow for you to work on your own.
Freedom to work independently
I feel this is more out of necessity as they seemed to at times not be able to oversee employees actions due to simple volume of work and employees.
I felt they should have been more open with their employees in terms of directions and less ambiguous
I am a male so I would feel less qualified to answer here but I didn't notice any overt discrimination.
Attitude towards older colleagues
as I am 43 I did not seem to notice a bias based upon age and in fact they seemed to treat us all older and younger equally.
Advancement opportunities seem to come around frequently enough
Overall compensation for your work
Could use more pay or even paid time off
Office / Work Environment
Sometimes too hot or cold but never so far out of control it would cause issues.
probably could be looked into as recycling is always important. There seemed a lack of urgency in this area.
This was acceptable just your run of the mill 9 to 5. If you worked too much to me it was up to the employee to verbalise this.
Not too proud but satisfied.
no complaints here most health care facilities do this but can always improve.
Clean facilities and most areas kept clear of hazards if not it was up to employees to see to work place safety
My work difficulty differs from day to day. Depending on how difficult a client wants to be with assisting with their daily routines of healthcare.
Inclusive / Diverse
Could improve in any work environment but it is important to have diversity in the health care field I felt as if they did ok here.
Suggestions for improvement
- Lazy employees at times. This causes a culture to develop that is not conducive with healthcare. Instead of bosses looking to avoid conflict they should be willing to confront this lack of effort and let the employee know it is in direct opposition to our team goals. Sometimes they were just too passive in order to let the time pass. One policy I would improve upon is allowing for smoke breaks. There should be none for all employees even at a smoke free facility you can still leave for a few minutes if you smoke. This policy is unfair to those who do not smoke as they do not get the extra few minutes off.
What I like about the company
I myself have had some health issues and each time I felt like I would not have to ask to take the time off I would be given the time without question. This to me is extremely important. I had a nasal surgery a few years back where this occurred. I was given time off with no hesitation. Another instance I have seen multiple other employees receive the same treatment with their health issues. To me that says everything when not only are you treated well but those around you are also treated as well.
What I dislike about the company
Sometimes they seemed in a rush to hire folks who did not seem to fit in the position they were hired. This can cause undue stress on the employees as well as the clients. This is probably my harshest criticism as to me they lacked an ability to filter qualifications properly. If you cannot have a solid team to work with they will fail. The clients will feel this as well and they are the last people you want noticing team issues.
