Company Culture

There was a tendency to segregate management and production, there were vary few times that production teams were given positive feedback by leadership.

Support from management

When I was @ Interface Leadership was extremely disconnected with the rest of the organization. Since my departure the leadership team has been replaced.

Teamwork

Most projects were turned over to production with minimal input from production.

Freedom to work independently

Because of the size of the company and it's staff, many individuals had to wear multiple hats. There was a high turnover rate of production management that led to multi-tasking of the remaining workforce.

Internal Communication

Communication was mainly a one way street, with very few open forums between production, engineering and leadership. Financial performance was always the gauge for production and in several cases non current production was never re-evaluated with price increases being past onto the customers due to volume reduction. Production attempted to communicate this to leadership without any formal response.

Work-Life Balance

Because of the high turnover rate of production management several individuals were filling more than one position for several weeks at a time.

Handicapped Accessibility

All of the facility were disability accessible, and the

Inclusive / Diverse

The workforce was very diverse, with a lot of temp to hire positions being filled, there was not a lot of employee loyalty to the company

Suggestions for improvement

  • Better communications between management and production, information sharing of other sites and facilities owned by Interface. Employee recognition and appreciations

What I like about the company

The products that Interface produced were very stable and they had a good customer base, along with a strong R&D department with a strong background of product development meeting customer needs.

What I dislike about the company

Constant turnover of employees, in both management and production areas. Since I have left the company however the upper management team has changed in an attempt to stabilize their workforce.
