Support from management
We are basically on our own. If we really have a problem, then we can get some type of help, but it depends on who is in the office at the time.
We are on our own and there are very few cases where we have someone else to work with. Many times when we have a new client, we just go and try to find out what we are to do. We don't receive any information unless the client request that we are trained by someone who is working there already.
Freedom to work independently
We receive some information about our clents, but that is all. Nothing about the company.
I do not know of any career development, unless I do it myself and earn a nursing degree. They do not give us that.
Overall compensation for your work
No pay raises. We get a small bonus at Christmas time only. They do not pay for gas for when we travel from client to client. There is a shift difference in pay only.
Office / Work Environment
Our clients homes vary due to their condition and age. Mostly I have been in really nice places with friendly clients.
Since I am very seldom in the office, I really can not say. As for the homes that I have been in, not really.
I work more then 40 hours. Most of those hours are fine, but I have a few hours that I would like to have changed or cut, but I will never see that happen until I no longer work for them.
Not really. It is only that my clients need someone that I stay. Plus I really enjoy being with them.
As long as my clients don't die or go to the hospital, I will have work in my area.
Depends on where I work at. Some have handicap accessibility, but most provate homes don't. One place that I work at, the appartment is so small that the clients is banging up the walls quite well.
I have no problems with the safety where I work at.
It all depends on the clients that I take care of. I am lucky that most of them are not very challenging, but very pleasent to work with.

Suggestions for improvement
- Get floaters who can fill in when needed. I couldn't get a full day of vacation because I had a client who had no one to take care of the in the morning. Therefore, I had to break up my vacation to go in and take care of that client.
What I like about the company

What I dislike about the company
No pay raises or milage. The fact that I have asked for them to try to take away my one hour shifts in the evening is a joke. The answer that I get is "There is no one who wants to work in the evening". I work fro 9AM to 6PM the I have a break till 9PM when I have a client just to put to bed then at 10PM I can go home to bed. It breaks up my evening and I don't get much done. Plus at that time I am ready for bed myself but have to wait until I go in to take care of that client.
They only give one day of training before sending us to our jobs.
