Suggestions for improvement
- More empowerment to the employees.
An awesome group of individuals to work with side by side, excellent communication.
The compensation and benefits for working with the federal government is great.
The full time contact representatives are entitled to the same benefits as all government employees, with a few additions thrown in by the IRS
Although some people work at year-round positions, some are hired only to help during tax season.
If you're older or a minority, look no further than a career with the IRS. As I neared age 57 in private industry, the age prejudice was huge. I worked for the same company 23 years as a top outside salesman, now they felt I was too old. At the IRS, age has nothing to do with promotional opportunities nor does race or gender. It's a great place to work if you're worried about discrimination in the workplace.
Compensation is lower than in private industry, but the benefits and job security more than make up the difference.
