Level of Autonomy

Leasing agents are 1099 contractors but treated as an employee. They are told exactly what to do, when and h o w to do it.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Not good; it's easy to dismiss as a 1099 contractor. Many have been dismissed for no cause.

Career Development

Does not exist. Many have been terminated after applying for a senior position.

Overall Compensation for your work

If you are organized and do not need to communicate with a supervisor, you could make a reasonable income. Compensation was reduced by 45% in June 2015.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Review the turn-over rates of agents in the Orlando office. There is more than a 55% turn-over rate for Leasing Agents in the Orlando office. The corporate office SHOULD take the time to complete exit interviews with Leasing Agents. I am sure they would be shocked at the responses.

I like about the employer

If you are organized, customer service oriented and can work with no direction or communication with the company, then leasing agents were able to make a reasonable amount of income. The company has recently slashed compensation for leasing agents by 45% +.
