People get treated based on who they know. If you're no t related to the owner or plant manager, you will NOT get hired and will remain a temp for the entire time you work there. There are temps who have been there for over 17 years - that's not an exception but is common.
Support from management
Management doesn't care about the employees. Workers making $9/hour are expected to make enough quality parts, even though the machinery is old and outdated. Support from management is non-existent d workers are on their own. Plant managers like to hide this from the owners who see only concerned about how much money the company makes.
There is none - read above.
Lacks. No one speaks English, because anyone that can has found a real company to work for.
Overall compensation for your work
The pay is not good. Even after 10 years. Mostly temps who are just out of jail, prison, rehab, etc. anyone who who does not have a criminal past, can find a real job at a real company. But hey, bad people need jobs too - I guess.
Iroquois does NOT recycle because it costs too much money. Not eco-conscious.
Typical work day is 11 hours. Management would rather you not have a work-life balance. All work and no time for family. This company really falls hard in this area.
This is not a safe place to work at. Ambulances come here frequently, nothing gets fixed until AFTER someone gets hurt. Air quality is horrible. Air is tested before the shift starts...of course it will show ok. OSHA should be made aware of this.
Suggestions for improvement
- Replace your mid-management and plant managers, it's not a good crew that can't be trusted. Favoritism is out of control. Iroquois would be out of business if people spoke English and weren't afraid to speak up and stand up for themselves. But that's why your entire workforce are non-e
What I like about the company
Free parking is good. Nothing else besides that.
What I dislike about the company
Low pay, no benefits, impossible to get hired in (even though not sure why someone would want to get hired in), too many cliques, management will not listen to their employees who are making the money. Managers are allowed to treat employees poorly. Overall distrust of the company and management team. Depressing place to spend your day. Keep looking unless you have no other choice- still keep looking for anything else.
