Support from management
The upper management was good until an interim plant manager stepped in. It was basically his way or no way. Everyone else in management was great. They looked out for you and helped you when you needed it.
Everything in the shop is ran in a circle. From parts, to weld, to clean, to paint, to finish. When things run smootg, they run really smooth.
Freedom to work independently
If you have an idea, say so. They won't harp on you. If you think there is a faster more efficient way of doing something, say so. If they think it'll work, they're happy to try it out. Everyone holds their own though. You have a quota.
They got me certified on the press brakes they had. There is room to grow if you hold up your end of things.
When you go home ahead of quota, it feels good. That's for sure.
What I like about the company
They will do what they can to make things work. The interim is no longer employed if I'm not mistaken, so I don't know how smooth things are since my leaving.
What I dislike about the company
The favorites game. If you're in good with certain people, you're in for good. If not, make sure you're at least doing what you're supposed to.
