Work for a franchise, not a corporate store

1.17

Company Culture

Too many back door politics

Support from management

you are expected to 'figure it out'

Teamwork

It's commissioned sales!

Freedom to work independently

There is no trust, either way

Internal Communication

You hear about company challenges, changes are frequent because it seems that there is no leadership

Gender Equality

Not from what I see

Attitude towards older colleagues

If they're younger, they'll work cheaper

Career Development

Staffs in dealerships have been cut, therefore have a skeleton crew

Overall compensation for your work

Salaries and bonuses (or lack of bonuses) are constantly changed. Base pay for starting commissioned sales dropped more than 6k for new hires.

Office / Work Environment

Average work environment, need to get with 21st century with computer programs

Environmental Friendliness

they recycle paper and some used oils in the shop

Work-Life Balance

8 hours becomes 15 regularly, there's always pressure to work more hours

Company Image

A good franchise owner is the way to go. Corporate offices need a house cleaning.

Job Security

Too many jobs have been eliminated because of financial issues of the company

Handicapped Accessibility

Nothing handicap accessible at dealership level

Workplace Safety

There is company provided training for safety

Challenging Work

Use to be rewarding, now just corporate garbage

Inclusive / Diverse

What comes out of the corporate offices is it. No one listens to employees, it's a good ole boys network. Are any executive of color? Or female?

Suggestions for improvement

  • Get rid of your egos and political correctness and get down to running a business.

What I like about the company

Franchisees great to work for--could give lessons to corporations--unfortunately, corporate executives not willing to listen.

What I dislike about the company

Changes in compensation, bonuses on a regular basis, elimination of store personnel to save money (being told you would be fired if you told anyone they were being let go). No work-life balance. 60-80 hour work weeks.
