- John Zink Company, LLC21.Feb 2017
There are quite a few women and people from diverse backgrounds in management positions, which is really nice to see.
When hired, I was told that there was education assistance. Well, there was for select people. Management didn't approve of my getting my Project Management education. I ended up paying it out of pocket.
John Zink, overall, was an outstanding company to work for.
I'm proud of the work I produce and was able to be creative. Although, I wasn't able to finish working on the paint system I started. At no point in my job, was I truly allowed to do my job, based on the Job Description.
Suggestions for improvement
- Better computer network security and working parking lot security. My vehicle was vandalized in the company parking lot on several occasions.
What I like about the company
Product and process training.....loved it....
Management style. You don't have to throw your weight around or to be mean to people, to get people on board with your ideas.
What I dislike about the company
Failure to pay for classes I submitted to management for approval. Initially, I asked for them to pay for Project Management classes, with the intention of registering for some classes to work towards an engineering degree. I was told, that it was not in the interest of the company to pay for my Project Management classes. I was under the impression, that tuition reimbursement was a benefit offered by the company.
