Suggestions for improvement
- First of all ever since the take over by Men's Wearhouse who now owns Jos. A. Bank this company needs to pay better wages for Mgmt, Full-time, and part-time employees along with improved work hours including proper floor sales coverage. This company is shooting themselves in the foot because of lack of sales floor coverage! If this company wants to deliver "World Class Service" to the public they have a lot to learn because they are not doing what is expected as far as that goes. There has to be a set of high standards as far as "World Class Service" is concerned! This includes how a customer is treated which includes from the first greeting of the customer; listening to their needs, presenting the merchandise (along with accessories shoes etc) to the alterations if necessary and final close of sale. This includes making sure each and every customer is acknowledged when they come into the store (30 second rule!) and not ignored or to avoid having them leave because they were not helped which is very frustrating to the customer! Sales floor coverage as well as work hours need to be improved along with better pay for employees. Maybe then this company could avoid the "Revolving Door" syndrome!
What I like about the company
The only thing that I like is that we are paid weekly every Fri and many of us have "Direct Deposit" but the hourly wages need to improve greatly as well as the work hours!!!!
What I dislike about the company
Ever since this company was bought out by Men's Wearhouse it really has negatively effected many employees including Asst Mgmt, Full-time, and part-time employees especially in the lowering of hourly wages, and work hours. This company does not pay well nor does this company employ enough people for proper sales floor coverage. The sales training is much less to be desired because it takes time for new employees to be fully trained in men's clothing and etc for successful sales knowledge of the merchandise with customer's needs. The #1 reason that this company has such a revolving door so to speak is because of the
low pay to employees, as well as lowering of work hours. In other words if you want to make commission you have to work like crazy
just to make commission! Even though they lowered the hourly rate of pay which goes for Asst Mgmt, Full-time, and Part-time employees. If you are a Sales Asst (Part-Time) Employee the only time you get commission is only on the rental of a Tuxedo or Suit for a Wedding etc... other than that all you get for your pay is your hourly wage each week. There isn't one person that I know who can live on such paltry wages and expect to make a decent living, not by today's standards! They also have cheapened the hangers that we have to use when a customer purchases a suit, sportcoat, etc..
which is cheap plastic with a rubberband just to hold the pants on the hanger when a suit is purchased! They need to realize that it makes this company look bad (cheap) and takes away from the quality of merchandise that is being sold to the public.
