Suggestions for improvement
- Improvements: 1. Follow through with company polices; 2. Thoroughly know and be engaged in how employees do their jobs; 3. Pay employees for working overtime; 4. Timely employee reviews; 5. Let employees know that they matter.
I like about the employer
They offered parking, snacks and a casual office.
I dislike about the employer
Managers weren't always aware of the day to day goings-on of the staff working in the office because they were hardly in the office. Staff was left to run the office largely by themselves. Many times staff worked overtime but were not paid for it under the guise that it first had to be approved by managers. Work load could be heavy and there was pressure to settle cases quickly, thus making an environment where it became necessary to stay late or come in early to keep up with what was expected to be done. There was no follow through on proposals for bonuses, raises or employee reviews. There was favoritism, making for poor staff morale at times. Employees were expected to attend "volunteer" events to promote the office, that would occur during non-work days/hours and not get paid for their time at the event.
