The supervisors are very personable and patient, but typically play favorites among their teams with discipline and promotions.
Freedom to work independently
The nature of the contract is such that you only work what you are assigned that day. You cannot choose your own responsibility.
Corporate often leaves local supervisors with unclear answers and vague directions. They also change their policies with little or no warning. This means local leadership is left unable to communicate with employees.
They are very proactive about helping employees find alternative ways to take time off without affecting their job. However, HR often fails to communicate clearly about benefits and pay stubs, and routinely makes mistakes.
Suggestions for improvement
- If corporate could communicate policy changes and benefit info clearly to out-of-state locations, it would make employees trust the company more. Those of us not in Virginia have no access to policies other than the basics of dress code, attendance, and such. We have zero information on policies affecting pay rate, performance review, or promotions.
What I like about the company
The people I work with treat each other like family for the most part. My coworkers are there for anyone who is needing support, and they are very respectful.
What I dislike about the company
Corporate has not caught up with the growth in our workforce. They have made many mistakes or caused misunderstandings over pay rates, benefits, insurance premiums, etc. Many employees have been hurt financially as a result.
