Suggestions for improvement

  • Listen more to providers. Reduce top down dictates. High more clinicians. Provide a better retirement package that includes no cost retirement health care. Provide better pensions.

I like about the employer

Kaiser hires excellent staff as a whole.

I dislike about the employer

The organization focuses too much on production. Providers in some departments, particularly the mental health and physical therapy departments can never do enough and are very understaffed, often compromising patient care. In other departments, such as pain management, charting and diagnosis is often inaccurate, due to confused roles leading to blind spots in assessments or treatment as a provider may engage in overreach beyond their training. Primary care is way over scheduled, reducing time with patients and reduced effectiveness. This is unfortunate as their are many highly talented providers in Primary Care.

Overall Compensation for your work

Benefits continue to decline as profits increase.

Eco-consciousness

If Kaiser was like it's marketing image, it would be a great place to work.

Work-Life Balance

Salaried, always working extra hours, as expected.

Company Image

The marketing image does not reflect an employer that overworks and stresses its providers, compromising their health for a "health caring" organization.
