Everyone works under the threat of getting fired. Seldom receive compliments.
Support from management
President takes no responsibility when things go bad. Nobody can do enough in his opinion.
Employees can work together great but some scramble to throw others under the bus when the President starts screaming at everybody.
Freedom to work independently
Spend many hours in meetings each day getting assigned tasks that cannot possibly be completed before the next batch of assignments are then handed out.
Communication is not consistent. Usually meetings are held when things go bad.
Few women work there. I have seen them treated rudely at times.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Long serving employees that have earned higher wages through the years are forced out and replaced with foreign workers to reduce wages.
This used to be the case when the former owner ran the company.
Overall compensation for your work
Salaries have been reduced through reduction in bonus programs.
Office / Work Environment
Ventilation is poor. Smokey atmosphere. Many of the air cleaning units are not hooked up or functioning. Floors are slippery with oil. Employees are not given time for cleanup. Security cameras cover every area so the President can monitor everyone from his office or his home. Two cameras even cover the breakroom.
Mandatory Saturdays and some Sundays. Management gets phone calls throughout vacation time.
No. The company is in decline.
Employees get terminated at the drop of a hat. The turnover rate is annually at 70 to 80%.
They meet the ADA standards. No disabled people are employed here.
Employs ex-convicts through the Illinois Second Chance program.
Most employees take pride in their work. It is rarely recognized by top management.
