The atmosphere was always one of "am I going to be fired today"
Support from management
Supervisor would reprimand in conflict situations and unrealistic expectations were set in a job that had no traffic to support the position applied and hired for. Employees not included in decision-making.
worked great with the other designers and helped each other.
Freedom to work independently
fair distribution when we had the business, but as far as structured, rules set by owner.
We saw the owner infrequently, and no updates or monthly reviews to track progress/sales.
yes, seems women are hired for certain positions
Attitude towards older colleagues
hired, but then let go if an illness keeps them away from the job and their quota is not met for the quarter
I did not see any opportunities for training or advancement
Overall compensation for your work
Limited medical benefits; salary is not great
Office / Work Environment
Freezing in the winter and hot in the summer. Desks were higher than norm and shoulders hunched over keyboard, creating tension in the neck
All Caucasian employees
Vacations were not given until you worked a full calendar year (January 1-December 31), so if you began the 1st of February, you had to wait almost two years to qualify for vacation. I worked six days a week, with only Monday's off. Hours were sometimes 10 hour days with only half hour lunch.
no one seemed to talk fondly of the company
positions not eliminated, just the employees. Job never felt stable
$50,000.00 job not praised, but reprimanded if mess up a $200.00 job
Inclusive / Diverse
Nope, the owners way or the highway
Suggestions for improvement
