While on the surface everything is positive there is tremendous pressure for compliance. My previous Team leads have been constructive with their coaching but my current leader is degrading.

Pod chats are there if you need them but you are pretty much on your own

  • More flexibility with my schedule. More time in between calls. More time to complete the training modules.

What I like about the company

Independent work from home situation. Reliable compensation. All types of support when needed

What I dislike about the company

Very strict which they tell you that up front because of the remote environment. Fast paced work with little down time during the day. Production metrics that MUST be met or you will have documented coaching.

They were always watching, except when you really needed assistance with a call.

Internal Communication

The first year, the department manager we had made at least one video a day informing us of what was coming up. Unfortunately, we were so busy that we weren't able to watch them and we weren't allowed to log in and watch them when we were off—not that I would have done that anyway.

Career Development

It's a temporary agency which happens to be Apple's number one Vender. But we weren't allowed to tell our customers that. There is no option for a long-term career.

Overall compensation for your work

I was there for two years before they finally gave us one week PTO per year. But it was like pulling teeth to get the time I needed/wanted off.

It is a call center. If you needed time off for a life event you had to request it at least a month before the event. Then it was like pulling teeth to get it off, anyway.

I don't know anyone who likes Kelly Services.

Job Security

I worked there for almost 5 years before they told me they didn't need me anymore.

We worked at home. The computer they supplied would be easy for someone who is handicapped to use.

Very. Nearly every call was from an Apple customer who wasn't happy with Apple or their products.

  • Concentrate more on taking care of the customer and not the merits.

Got to work at home and got paid every Friday.

Company Culture

You get to work at home and they supply the equipment.

Support from management

The TLs and Supervisors do care about the employees. Upper management didn't seem to know the job and were always coming up with "rules" that were geared to upset the customers and there was nothing we could do for the customers.

Teamwork

If you need assistance, the TLs in chat would pull you into private chat to help you.

Freedom to work independently

Even if you thought you were alone, someone was watching and monitoring everything you did. But the TLs were always there if you needed assistance, except on Saturdays. It was murder to get help on Saturdays (I never worked Sunday, but I think someone said it was also a problem on Sundays.)

You get daily emails and you communicate via chat with the TLs and Supervisors

It didn't matter what gender anyone is.

I didn't see any problems and there were several older colleagues.

No future in a temporary agency.

Overall compensation for your work

After we were there a year, they finally gave us a dollar more an hour. A couple of years later, they upped our pay to $15.00 per hour for Senior Advisors.

You get to work at home. It's up to you where you put the computer they supplied, but it did need to be in a quite environment.

Again, it's up to you since you're at home.

It took a lot of work for the TL and Supervisor to get you set schedule, but if you needed a day off for something special, it was like pulling teeth to get it. Sometimes I just had to take an occurrence to get the day off.

Company Image

I don't know anyone who is happy with Kelly Services. It's a temporary agency, so there are no benefits. I worked there for two years before they finally let us have 5 days Paid Time Off per year. But it was like pulling teeth to get the week you requested off.

I was there for almost five years and the job ended.

Sometimes they released a product before we were scheduled to train for it. Which was really more "throwing us under the bus" than actual challenging.

We were kept abreast of what was going on, but we didn't have any say in what was going on

  • Offer benefits. Listen to employee suggestions and don't make changes that are going to effect the customers in a negative way.

What I like about the company

Working at home and getting paid every Friday.

What I dislike about the company

No benefits. Didn't allow enough time on the phone with the customers. AAHT (Average Adjusted Handle Time) was more important than taking care of the customer. They wanted us to set up callbacks if we didn't get the issue resolved in 20 minutes, but then they complained that we were "an inbound call center, why are you on so many outbound calls?" when we called everyone back.
