Suggestions for improvement
- Most of these things I stated in the last question. We need a stronger Bullying Policy, more emphasis on kindness. Everyone should be held to the same standards and accountability. If the school day for teachers goes from 8:10-3:45, the administrators should not be allowed to leave whenever they'd like. We need to have clean-up policies - our students make a mess and destroy lots of materials with no sort of repercussions. There should be more incentive for teachers to attend professional development conferences. Currently the school pays very little to help teachers attend these things.
What I like about the company
My co-workers are all kind, helpful, respectful people whom I love working with every day. The community is supportive and the students for the most part are very respectful and eager to learn.
What I dislike about the company
We do not put enough emphasis on anti-bullying, and some of the staff even bullies other staff members. Our elementary principal is a bit of a bully as well, and takes credit for work she has other teachers do for her. She's leaving this year though, so hopefully things will change on that front. Our business department will not give teachers a budget to work with when requisitioning teaching tools, they just tell us not to spend "too much." Teachers should have reduced prices for lunch, especially since Aides and the sort get free lunch.
