Company Culture

I have a great boss and he leads an amazing crew!

Support from management

Absolutely. We have an incredible staff of knowledgeable people.

Teamwork

We have to work well together as a team, otherwise our shifts would be chaotic.

Freedom to work independently

We all have set positions at work, but we have side work to do in between orders. Sometimes, with certain coworkers, they have to be nudged a little to start a side project.

Internal Communication

We get group texts, have frequent meetings and have an ever-changing bulletin board with daily updates.

Gender Equality

We are a mostly male crew but I've ne we witnessed sexism.

Attitude towards older colleagues

My boss is very accommodating to all ages & abilities.

Career Development

There is always room for growth.

Overall compensation for your work

I feel I should be making more money for as long as I've worked there.

Office / Work Environment

We are regulated by OSHA, the health department & the fire department.

Environmental Friendliness

We do not have on-site recycling bins.

Work-Life Balance

I am disabled, with a chronic stomach disorder. My boss understands and allows me time off whenever necessary.

Company Image

It's an excellent company to work fod5.

Job Security

I know my job well and am confident that my position is safe in regards to my work ability.

Handicapped Accessibility

Yes, all throughout the parking lot.

Workplace Safety

We're required to wear uniforms, non-slip shoes and such.

Challenging Work

It's fast food, so it's a very fast-paced environment. That is really the only challenge, besides rude customers.

Inclusive / Diverse

We are part of a major restaurant chain, so our franchise owners do not give us much room for new ideas.

Suggestions for improvement

  • I would implement mandatory 15 min breaks every 2 hours, allow employees to have 1 free individual meal per day, and offer family meal discounts.

What I like about the company

I recen6had some financial set backs. My company has an employee emergency fund set up to help us with difficult times. The program's coordinator quickly responded to my request for help & had my bills and rent paid in less than 3 days. She kept me & my family from being either without electricity or being homeless.

What I dislike about the company

I disapprove of my company's refusal to give us free meals, family meal discounts or host special employee events. I don't feel as though we are recognized indivually very often.

Suggestions for improvement

  • The working time period, that is, the start and end time of a company's work, the company does not recognize the job seekers who frequently quit job. Therefore, if the working time period is more than 2 years, it will be valued, and 3-5 years is the most in a company. Good working hours. After working in a company for more than 5 years, after adapting to the new company, it will cause certain difficulties.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Change the workplace arrangement - re-work the open office plan with input "from the bottom up," i.e., let those most affected by the workplace arrangements plan it. Continue to improve pay and benefits for restaurant-level employees. Bring more executive-level benefits to all employees. Guard and work against being subject to unhelpful or unduly controlling ideas from the parent company being imposed "from above." Always, always, honor the work, recommendations, and plans coming from the project teams most involved in planning them.

What I like about the company

The company, and my team (Legal), worked constantly to make sure we lived up the things we claimed to believe about a positive culture, rewarding career development, and positive, collegial environment. Different functions and teammates with differing skills and personalities worked well together. Management focused on developing and supporting employees who were expected to work independently, step forward with positive contributions, and maintain a focus on moving the business forward even with ideas and work technically not a part of one's daily job. Ultimately, it was the people. Always the people.

What I dislike about the company

The higher one goes in the company, the less diverse it is (i.e., the whiter and more male it becomes). The company still has work to do on a diversity mindset. The open office plan implemented a few years ago has proven to create significant difficulties and should be courageously reviewed even though changes will cost money. There is a good bit of constant stress and worry about job security due to business changes and the sense that, as a part of a global restaurant holding company, one's "life is not one own," i.e., one's future can be radically changed or one's job come to an end no matter how good one's performance may be. Restaurant employees should certainly be paid more - the company claims that satisfying restaurant guests is the number one priority, and restaurant general managers and their teams are the crucial leaders to accomplish this; however, the company's restaurant-level pay has yet to match its stated values.
