Suggestions for improvement

  • A better relationship between the cooks and the servers as well as a better understanding of the experience for the customer so that there is not such a lack of communication between server and occasional customers new to the hibachi style meal.

What I like about the company

Made great friends, met a lot of really great customers, hibachi style grill makes a more inviting environment. I fell in love with sushi at my last place of work as well. Sushi is an amazing little fish sandwich chopped into bites. Management still treated me like a human on their level at all times which I respected.

What I dislike about the company

The lack of follow through on word. The boss refuses to give incentive to hard working employees which causes good servers to leave. Holidays and busy season deserves higher compensation.

Company Culture

Free white sauce? Kind of.

Support from management

Management will cuss at you, yell at you, and accuse you of theft if you bring up anything they disagree with.

Teamwork

Teamwork varies as some people don't care and the others are too badly trained.

Freedom to work independently

You have to do everything yourself. Need fried shrimp? Go in the back, roll them in tempura batter and breadcrumbs, and put them in the fryer. Be sure to watch them because no one else will...especially the kitchen staff!

Gender Equality

Women are waitresses. That's it. Not sushi or anything else.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Regularly made fun of older colleagues. Called them grandma, etc.

Career Development

Dead end job

Overall compensation for your work

Minimum wage and nothing more

Office / Work Environment

Dirty and hostile

Work-Life Balance

Holiday? Work.

Company Image

Japanese steakhouse, it does it by itself

Job Security

They will never fire you and if you quit they will call and beg you back multiple times.

Challenging Work

Hard work with no bonuses or raises.

Inclusive / Diverse

No diversity at all. They hire the kind of people they like and that is it.
