Freedom to work independently

Freedom to work independently is high because there is no accountability. Therefore, some ppl work extremely hard while coworkers do the bare minimum if anything at all. Hard to see associates that do not have secretaries that assist them at all. It should be a team!

Attitude towards older colleagues

I don’t think a lot of the assistants give the older partners the respect they deserve.

Office / Work Environment

It seems a lot of the soul has left the firm - not much communication or comraderie like there used to be. No communication with/from HR. Hurts morale.

Inclusive / Diverse

Firm does have a very diverse group of associates and staff. I like that.

Suggestions for improvement

  • HR and team management need to communicate with staff! Let’s all be a team to make the firm great. Don’t see that anymore. It is nice to say thank you and show recognition sometimes.

What I like about the company

I love that there is an incredible group of brilliant IP attorneys. So much talent. Proud of firm as a whole in the clients we have.

What I dislike about the company

No HR presence anymore to manage the employees. Many take advantage.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Better management all around. Liberal culture is uncomfortable and firm needs to maintain a more neutral stance on political and social issues. Needs to terminate its diversity initiative with raged to hiring policies bc incompetent individuals are being placed in positions they are not qualified for.

What I like about the company

Very diverse group of attorneys and adequate mentoring program for young associates. Work is largely dependent on the specific group you work for, but overall the work is very challenging and the clients are well-known leaders in this respective corporate sectors. The work demands that you become the best attorney in your area of expertise. Benefits are more than adequate.

What I dislike about the company

Turnover rate is high, overall management of individual teams is sometimes lacking, opportunity to have fulfilling life outside of firm is practically non-existent bc of billable hour requirements. Firm’s desire to maintain diversity rating within legal profession sometimes leads to questionable hires and promotions while more suitable candidates do not progress into leadership positions. Firm’s desire to be politically correct is stifling.
