It was amazing! Like a HUGE family! Very supportive and so much to learn!
Support from management
They will help and support you 100%!
Like every job, there will be someone who won't put in the effort as much as their team members...BUT, over-all there is a team playing atmosphere.
Freedom to work independently
There will be times where you need to single-handedly "man" the café yourself, but it is very rewarding in being THAT trusted to do so.
For the most part everyone is very communicative, but it's also up to you to communicate and get your needs met as well.
The company was created by a woman, so I think that's your answer.
Attitude towards older colleagues
There are college students of all ages and if you have the experience and the drive for the job, there is no turning that down because of age. I've worked with all ages at this location.
There is some room for growth, depending on how much, how hard and how long you've worked there. I was able to be a Team Leader and able to help managed another location temporarily.
Overall compensation for your work
You get paid for all that you do, including over-time if your hours permitted.
Office / Work Environment
A café setting isn't really an office, per say, but the environment is well lit, ventilated, clean and temperature is well maintained.
recycling all items and re-using espresso grinds are a big plus to this place!
I went to work here since it was on my college campus and they are sooo willing to work around your school and exam schedule! Never once had a problem with being able to take time off or ask for more hours! Very accommodating!
I will always be proud to of worked there! Was my most favorite job and experience! They were very respected on the campus.
I had always felt secure in my job being there.
The facility itself is handicap accessible in terms of no needs for ramps and what-not, but the counters are way too high and inaccessible to work at the cashier or espresso machines.
The place is OSHA compliant for sure. The first day of training and orientation is based on safety alone.
A college café is very fast paced in and of its self. There are many instances where it can be challenging, but with a team working atmosphere makes challenges a bit easier.
Inclusive / Diverse
There is every type of person, from every background, country and the like. Working on a college campus, you get to be around every walk of life.
