  • Central office salaries should be closer to teachers. More support for teachers

I have always hd good experiences but some of my coworkers at other campuses have not been so fortunate

How different things are campus to campus. How top heavy the organization is pay wise

When I wanted to change the way I was teaching I was very supported and allowed to go observe teachers that implanted the program I wanted to try

  • Allow people to speak the truth without sugar coating everything, quit expecting employees to be "yes men" employees should be allowed to do their jobs without concern of termination if they disagree with a superior.

What I like about the company

There are currently none to share, very dismal work environment.

What I dislike about the company

To top heavy and people are allowed personal agendas at the expense of the district.

Support from management

2014- Current Administration began with good intentions- District organized, unaware of students needs, she is impulsive, does not support teachers. Starts projects, has ideas, but rarely follows through.

Teamwork

Teachers work work together for the most part. At a district level, there is a disconnect of what is and what is ideal/ desired.

Freedom to work independently

The work load is not distributed equally. The classroom teacher versus specialist and other certified staff is very unbalanced. The administrator at McDougle does not think of layering requests for data, documentation, or anything else with very short deadlines. There is never any regard or thought about what is already on the teachers plate currently.

Office / Work Environment

Working conditions are good. Technology is available, but needs updating, buildings are clean and stay maintained, and one would have what they need to complete the job of teaching.

Work-Life Balance

Taking time off ftom teaching, a day, week or month is not easy, due to the level of planning rewuired, but is very possible. Taking sick or personal time is really not an issue, unless it is,before a holiday.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Listen to what the teachers are saying will best meet the needs of the students; not just data, the wallet and people that do not actually work with the kids.

What I like about the company

Klein pays decently and because if the size, though benefits are sterp, they are cheaper than neighboring districts

What I dislike about the company

Curriculum writers do not take into account the pace that children learn. There are very little opportunities to reteach. They also have an unspoken policy not to fail students in elementary, passing kids that truly need retention.
