Support from management
Terrible management. Constantly changing. They pretend to listen, pretend to care, but they really don't.
Freedom to work independently
The only reason i gave this 3 stars is because i ran a machine, and had little contact with coworkers throughout the day.
There is NO communication between management and production workers.
I only saw about 2 or 3 people get promoted while i was there. It ALWAYS the same people and ALL Aof them were men. As a woman this obviously irritated me.
You will not get anywhere, and you won't be paid what you're worth.
Overall compensation for your work
No one ever realky got promoted because they were never given a chance. If you're good at your job they'll keep you there- you will be literally stuck.
I made a few friends there that i still keep in contact with
They will tell you that they are flexible with scheduling- that they'll work with you if you have a problem, but try to take vacation certain times of the year or call in without vacation time and they won't hesitate to point you.
While Klein does produce good tools, the company itself hides behind a "good image mask", even though they can't keep good employees. They make themselves look and sound like a great company to work for. It's just a dog and pony show.
They fire people left and right for stupid reasons or no reason. There's people who have done wrong and should be terminated but haven't been.
Suggestions for improvement
- Too many to list. But for starters, treat the employees better. Give them better pay, more opportunities to advance or at least learn a new skill. Stop firing people for no reason or stupid reasons, and terminate the ones that need to go. Management needs to have better communication with supervisors and other production workers and not contradict themselves.
What I like about the company
Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
What I dislike about the company
Everything. I saw my favorite- and one of the best supervisors get fired over lies told about him. When i told my supervisor my hands were in constant pain from my job the nurse gave me bio-freeze and ibprofueron. There's good employees there but several times they hired idiots that don't know how to do their job. There's people who need to be fired but haven't been. There are people who were fired for no reason or stupid reasons. The pay isn't that great, you'll never get anywhere, and the OT isn't even worth it. Nothing at that company is worth it. Management is CONSTANTLY changing and they have no idea what they're doing.
