Its like high school and you have to work with people you would dread being around otherwise and that is from the top down.
Support from management
Poor at best.
minimal, had a documneted conversation upon helping out co workers
Freedom to work independently
Given my expertise on ordering and finacial controls I was constantly called out for not ordering product I did not need. So basically order more and order more even though business was very slow
No feedback given and back door conversation were had while people smile and tell you to stay positive.
Overall compensation for your work
good pay when looking at it on paper but not when the expectations are slowly turned up
Office / Work Environment
two stars but still poor, new building but nobody new much about anything.
zero fair trade, overly wasteful non green.
if 16 hour days give you work life balance then there is no reason for you to ever go home
Chefs trained in vegas don't make the cut, but then in certain divisions they don't make it at all no matter what.
second floor dining had zero capabilities for for anyone needing help navigating staircases.
rushed poorly constructed building with water pouring in and out where ever you look
if paying invoices, doing line checks and having the expectation that you are a line cook seem challenging to you its a perfect fit.
Suggestions for improvement
- Instead of trying to appeal to everybody, try doing the food you are good at even better. The cheesecake factory isn't bothered by a half dead cross eyed mosquito
- offer support instead of criticism and people will have better attitudes,
- know your identity, quit trying to be and offer what you are not.
What I like about the company
I am no longer employed there
What I dislike about the company
The upper management dishonesty, I believe I was being forced out early on.
