Absolutely horrible culture, no sense of gratitude, the expectations of the constantly changing employees is incomprehensible.
Support from management
Management lacks honesty, I have never worked for a more dishonest company. It appears to be taught to push long term employees out to bring in cheaper, less skilled employees. They make very empty promises to keep highly skilled employees, and your raises are as if you have been maxed out from day one.
Employees struggle to work together do to extreme differences between skill level and knowledge of what they are doing.
Freedom to work independently
Workload is in no way distributed evenly, lack of skill and knowledge of general population of employees leaves the handful of truly skilled workers overburdened.
Anyone can get a job here, whether they are qualified or not.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Older people wouldn't want to work here as most of them are skilled and expect to be paid for their skill, and long term employees seem to be pushed out after they have dedicated their lives to working here.
Not really, if they can't profit off of you then you are a waste of their resources but they will still provide empty promises.
Overall compensation for your work
Compensation is terrible so you will still be broke after your 50 to 70 hour work week but benefits (holiday, vacation IF IT GETS APPROVED, and emergency situations) are handled well.
Office / Work Environment
Ventilation is terrible, the concrete floor destroys your joints and back, climate control is non existent. Summers are very brutal in the weld shop, if ventilation was better, may not be as bad.
They pretend that the environment is a huge deal to them but it's just another part of the dishonesty.
No work, life balance, if you work for this company, you are expected to dedicate more to the company than your own family. Essentially your family gets the scraps after they are done with you.
So much negativity surrounds you it is depressing, does not seem to bother management, keeping everyone moody is acceptable to them.
You can stay here as long as want, all you have to do is follow their attendance policy and they will keep you forever. #GiveUpYourLife
Job is as safe as a job with very dangerous equipment, overworked/ under compensated employees, and a lot of people put into safety positions who have ideas of their own but have never actually worked in the shop using the ideas can be. "I've never done this before, but the way I see it."
I am very proud of my work but it is very hard to want to keep producing a high level performance when there is no goal, no increased pay for hard work or gratitude. Pay is based on when you were employed.
Inclusive / Diverse
No, absolutely not, if you have a good idea and aren't one of the hierarchy, it is best to keep the idea to yourself and hope that one day they think of it. If you share an idea, they will go the opposite direction even if it increases the failure to accomplish task.
