Any machines are run by union operators who for the most part are poorly trained, counter productive, lazy, selfish and generally unmotivated because they literally cannot be terminated.
Freedom to work independently
Cutbacks and reduction in management has forced the management that began with four to be reduced too one but the responsibilities of the four have remained.
Overall compensation for your work
Wages do not meet the responsibilities when again union operators who have generally poor performance make slightly less than the management immediately above them but have to do twice the work because because of the unions lack of effort or accountability.
EHS works really hard to maintain OSHA standards but they can only do so much when there is a constant battle with employees who don't care.
Suggestions for improvement
- Do not re-sign with the union when the current contract ends.
What I like about the company
Local management is knowledgeable and understand the processes. They really give one hundred percent to make the company profitable.
What I dislike about the company
Long hours, unrealistic business structure to sustain for the long run and uppermanagement that really don't understand the business.
