Family owned and managed a hostile environment. They berated employees on a routine basis and have no interest in establishing a fair cohesive environment.
Support from management
Family owned, family management. Made promises they did not complete. Hostile work environment.
Employees are not graded or reviewed. No objective way to measure or reward employees.
Freedom to work independently
This is a family owned company and they have little or no say in their fields of expertise.
The company does not perform evaluations.
Criteria used to promote are punitive and not measured objectively with commonly accepted performance standards.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Long term employees are monitored closely and have been encouraged to retire early by the family ran administration.
Was promised a career advancement opportunity and refused to follow through with it after the position was taken.
Overall compensation for your work
Was promised an increase in pay after hire, never followed through and was let go after the issue was brought up again.
Office / Work Environment
Poor. They refuse to gain the resources that employees need in order to complete their jobs.
Operates outside commonly accepted business practices.
Do not allow employees to take necessary time without retribution.
Employees are afraid to say what they really feel. As with other hostile environments, they know that the family owned and managed company will fire them without hesitation.
Hostile work environmenment managed and family owned. The current management is not qualified to manage at the level they do. No written policy and procedures exist to even establish a norm.
Not handicapped accessible.
Some safety materials are provided to select staff. Training is offered to management and may or may not filter to the employees that actually perform the tasks.
Positive re-enforcement is not practiced. Nor is routine performance appraisals outlining goals and objectives.

Suggestions for improvement
- Routine performance appraisals. Hire an independent outside qualified controller that will ensure common accepted business practices are followed. Have a true independent workplace environment assessment tha would truly allow employees to voice concerns.
What I like about the company
It is an easy job and at one time, was a good place to work.
What I dislike about the company
Unfair treatment by management. No measurement or clear definition of duties. No policy and procedures. Instability of environment and the fact that family member is not qualified to do what they are doing.
