The company is driven by its mission of providing healthcare services to members.
Support from management
favoratism is a huge problem at LACare with managers and directors only updating there favorite people. Most people that I talk to are not getting enough information from managers and directors to be able to do their job.
The level of teamwork varies a lot throughout the company. Managers and directors who are favorites do well and get what they need. Everyone else is on their own.
Freedom to work independently
depends on the manager or Director!!
The company does a good job of letting us know about the company plans for the future.
Communication from Directors and Managers often doesn't make its way to the people who need who do the work. Some staff are overwhelmed in the amount of work they need to do while other staff are begging for work to do. Very dysfunctional company
Office / Work Environment
The main office is very nice as are most (not all) of the work areas in the overflow Garland bldg.
The available technology is not great but it is much better than a couple years ago.
Work is very challenging for "favorites" and tedious for the rest of us
Suggestions for improvement
- Shake up management and stop the favoratism. Most of the poeple I talk to want to do a good job but arent able to because they can't get basic information from IT management
What I like about the company
Great location . Metro red line is very close and near staples and la life
tuition reimbursement is great
What I dislike about the company
Hard to get any information from IT directors
hard to get any work finished as work and goals are changed frequently
