100% not. There is zero fairness in this company. There is no "rule book" or manual to follow. One person can get away with something and another person will get in trouble for the exact same thing.
Support from management
Opinions are not valued at all.
All of the employees that are not in management, stick together like glue. Couldn't find better coworkers
Freedom to work independently
A lot of employees are leaving because they aren't happy. Barely anyone is being replaced. Lots of different workloads are placed on employees that already have entirely too much work.
No one is told anything until it is two weeks late- examples: the company would know that they wouldn't be running certain programs in the next semester. The Admission department wouldn't find out until a couple of weeks before the semester begins. After they have continued to promote and enroll students in those programs.
The company still uses protocol that enticed enrollment 20 years ago. They are not looking for innovation .
Overall compensation for your work
Absolutely not. Too much management with huge salaries, not enough employees to handle the work load and no raises are given to any employees (due to payroll being so high for undeserving management).
LBI expected my department to literally work around the clock (reply to any Admission calls/ emails/ texts 24 hours a day) and no raises or even praises were passed out. This was an expected part of the job added much after employment began.
I cannot name one person that worked there during my 2+ years that spoke highly of their job or the company.
I was always proud of my work, but no one ever gave any kudos for a job well done. No one else noticed someone's pride in their work.
Suggestions for improvement
- The people running the company would need to be completely luqidated in order for the company to improve. They refuse to listen to new ideas and focus on current trends.
What I like about the company
I wasn't much of a fan of LBI as an employer. I stayed so long because of the teamwork of the employees who were not management. There is a huge comradarie among the hardest workers in that business.
What I dislike about the company
Management style, lack of leadership, lack of understanding, unfair rules/ unjust behavior towards certain employees, 24 hour required work, no raise, no praise, being spoke down to by management, being treated as though you are less intelligent than management, the list goes on.
