Suggestions for improvement

  • I would incorporate an online system that acts as a scheduler for nurses. In this, the nurses would select their work days perhaps every month and also see which days have the most employees versus the least.

What I like about the company

The nursing managers are role models to the other employees and are always there when a nurse is struggling. Everyone just seems to help each other and ensure that we work as a team to bolster the success of the entire hospital. Especially since we work with patients of all levels, from minor check-ups to critical conditions, the hospital makes sure that we nurses are happy so we are in the stable mind to take care of the patients and make sure that they are happy as well.

What I dislike about the company

I wish that my company allowed more freedom in scheduling and letting us choose, with restrictions, which days we want to work. Even though the environment within the hospital may be positive, it stresses me out when I'm forced to miss my children's award ceremony or even Thanksgiving in order to go to work. And when I'm stressed out, I get a little cranky, putting me in a worse position to take care of patients.
