There is an effort to "think like a start up" but I don't feel that from the top down.
Support from management
I only talk with my direct manager when something is breaking.
Currently, I am asked/expected to do fix most of my team's problems and I'm often asked to do things for team members that they should be able to do for themselves..
Freedom to work independently
I am free to work independently, usually.
On my team, there is chaos. I generally am expected to know all the answers and I'm often surprised.
I am not asked to work late often, however, I take work home with me quite a bit because my workspace is so stressful.
I have been working on the same project for a long time. I would like to change.
Suggestions for improvement
- Accountability should be team wide. It's hard to get motivated when half of the team gets babied and protected and constantly creating more work for the other half.
What I like about the company
My compensation is good, and my management team looks out for me when I need to deal with family/personal issues.
What I dislike about the company
The lack of communication.
