There aren't any ramps or handicapped restrooms and elevators often breakdown.
Inclusive / Diverse
The company is German based and the highest positions are primarily held by native Germans. The next level of management is somewhat diverse, however it is a "forced" diversity that doesn't take into account whether the person filling the position is really qualified for the position.
Suggestions for improvement
- The company could retain more employees by actually taking a look at middle management and really seeing if those leaders are the right ones for their positions and not merely a figure put in place because of a diverse need or simply because of religion.
What I like about the company
Medical and dental benefits are very affordable and allow the employee to choose an HMO or PPO. The 401 k program has a 6% company match with no required vesting time.
What I dislike about the company
The company has salary and non salary employees. The office workers are almost all salary employees and the factory workers are almost all hourly. However, the benefits for time off and bonuses have been scaled down so that they are now the same for both types of employees, yet the factory employees get overtime and they get paid based on time to complete jobs. The hourly employees can also cash in personal time at year's end, whereas salary emploees cannot. The salary workers in most instances work many extra hours without any financial award.
There are many workers within the offices that are deeply religious and go so far as to have prayer meetings during lunch hour and they give the appearance that they are giving preferential treatment to their bible group co-workers.
