Company Culture

Very high on nepotism

Support from management

Department managers do not know how their departments are supposed to run and have very little knowledge of the product and procedures. Management is mostly friends and relatives

Teamwork

Teamwork among the manufacturing personnel is very good. However supervisor and manager skills again lack here

Internal Communication

There is no communication from the top down. Anything discussed in the manager meetings is not passed down in a timely manor or not at all. this causes many customer complaints which are not properly addressed when it comes to NCR documentation.

one gender is not recognized very often due to cultural upbringings

They are looked up to by most employees for their knowledge. sadly most of them have now moved on.

Career Development

LSO is only a starting point to learn the basics of medical device manufacturing. learn the basics and then move on to something better.

minimum wage only, no matter how long you have worked at LSO

Office / Work Environment

Work environment is terrible, work is dumped on employees with unrealistic demands on due dates. Long hours and no compensation. Manufacturing personnel get "make up" time instead of overtime. If you work 8 hours on the floor and then do extra work (janitorial work) after hours you don't get overtime pay because "its a different job" so no OT pay.

Environmental Friendliness

sharps containers are picked up when they are full and instead of being disposed of by a hazardous waste company the contents are dumped into the dumpster or stored in plastic coffee containers in the warehouse. very dangerous.

  • listen to your employees, hire qualified personnel to be in charge of others, reinstate employee reviews (they were taken away years ago) offer better health insurance, pay overtime as its supposed to be and not as "make up time"

What I like about the company

the core group of manufacturing and support employees are some of the best people I know.

What I dislike about the company

Inappropriate relationships between upper management, no pay raises, lack of knowledge from department managers, procedures not being followed correctly, nepotism, people not qualified for their jobs, using very old and outdated equipment. Clean Rooms are very hot and the HEPA and AC systems are not functional in nearly half the manufacturing area.

What I like about the company

Most of the employees (hourly) are long term employees of 10 years or more

What I dislike about the company

management as a whole is poorly trained in the knowledge of the departments they run and procedures.
