It's all about what you can do for the company and how fast you can do it. No more employee interactions or recognition. They have a new ticket program you can fill out to recognize employees but it was driven from Corp office for people to fill it out.
Support from management
New GM was hired and all communication was lost. Corp hired him and then flew out and left it for us to deal with. He does not know fabrication, someone at this level is just an over paid expiditer pretty sad when the rest of the managers can't or won't do anything about it.
Only a couple first level supervisors are working with teams working together and trying to keep the areas positive and productive. Managers only come around to tell you what you need to do and that it's never enough.
Freedom to work independently
Very little. Only communication is when employees need to work more and do more for little in return.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Corp office pushing out development skill base pay but it limits people if you look at the way it's set up you can have all top performers and it is all about limiting pay but they don't paint that picture to employees or others they act like its a great development tool don't be fooled.
Overall compensation for your work
Terrible, top employees getting 30 cents or so a year for hard work. And big wigs getting rich and bonuses.
Office / Work Environment
Only 1 office staff Corp came in and laid off alot of IL people front office is a disaster and no one can even get in the building half the time.
Work work work how many weekends can you work and better be working 10plus hour days or managers will make it mandatory. Mostly because of scheduling and working the wrong kind and after years of this being an issue it still is and employees are left dealing with another poor managers decision.
Down hill fast. Used to be looked at as a great company to work for but not anymore.
Been thru layoffs now which never had to happen until the new CEO took over.
No, work and do the same things day in and out, very little areas can cross train due to cut head count, and no good trainers or time to train properly.
Suggestions for improvement
- Quit bringing in managers with degrees and think they know what there doing, Good example is the GM. We have now is unbelievable, brings nothing to the table, no communication very strange when all other staff just wondering what to do.

Overworked employees, managers bark and think that them letting you have a job is good enough for you to be hard working. If you don't like it there leave...been said many times. Corp office has no idea what really happens at the plant level.
