Saying and doing are two concepts they just can't seem to bring together
Support from management
The manager role seems to be a revolving door; several good managers have left/been asked to leave which leaves the departments floundering
Most teams are good. They rely on each other to get through the piles of work. Some teams have employees and leaders that are just there for the paycheck.
Freedom to work independently
The work is not fairly distributed. When the phones are busy it's 'everyone on the phones' but that leaves depth with a backlog of work and no help to get through it.
Communication from management is slow/poor but when information is provided, then the listening by employees is also lacking
The ratio is close to 70%women in the office with many in leadership roles
Attitude towards older colleagues
I would not categorize 45 as a senior worker. They do have and appreciate many workers over 60
This is an area for improvements
Overall compensation for your work
Salaries do not match responsibility, the benefits have been improved bit are not to scale whither the company size and structure with a large parent company
Office / Work Environment
The office is a nice space whither ample desk area and pcs to complete work. The building is kept clean and in good repair by cleaning crew, landlord and building maintenance.
Rarely is there work/life balance. For most areas it is difficult taking a day off let alone a real vacation. Hours for some are long and include much more than 40 hrs a week to Include weekends, holidays and even hurricanes.
Every day I wondered if my job was stable, it's not a good feeling
There were fire drills and bomb threats, plenty of practice on evacuating the building
The feeling of accomplishment is strong, but not necessarily for the right reasons. The lack of support, training and knowledge about rules, regulations, and systems causes employees to recreate the wheel and research topics that should already be settled.
Inclusive / Diverse
Suggestions are made by employees and glossed over. If a member of upper mgmt makes a suggestion it's gold and others have to figure out how to implement.
Suggestions for improvement
- Really LISTEN to the employees-they are the ones who get you to those lofty goals. And I dont mean listen to the troublemakers, listen to those that care. Look closely at those dept that are constantly working, make CHANGES so people can have a life outside of work
What I like about the company
The majority of employees care about providing quality work and support to the clients.
What I dislike about the company
Managers allow clients to dictate and accept almost Impossible expectations that are close to setting up for failure instead of setting reasonable expectations and then over delivering
