It seemed that appearance (beauty) made more of an impact then education, experience and sensibility. I understand that appearance is important however it should factor in with other attributes you bring to the table. This company only cared about looks. Qualified and experienced people who had families and were employed for a longer period of time; were overlooked for younger prettier girls just walking in the door.
Support from management
Supervisor was mainly interested in the real pretty girls, work relationship was more than that between supervisor and employees. Girls who sat around doing their hair and makeup at their work stations were given higher recognition than those men and women who actually performed. There was always animosity between employees and departments. Particular supervisors formed cliques with employees and treated them with a much higher regard then others.
Freedom to work independently
Anytime something new was to be developed as far as strategy they did appreciate feedback.
While there were often meetings about the company, supervisors did not want to communicate with employees.
Suggestions for improvement
- Make experience and work ethic matter more.
What I like about the company
Some of the employees I met there became like a family. While the departments were always rivaling against one another the department you worked with became not just coworkers but family.
What I dislike about the company
Some of the supervisors were sneaky and would ask you personal questions about other employees. If you refused to stoop to that level then you became a target for animosity. Also supervisors discriminated against certain employees based on their looks. Example two women could be wearing similar items however something would be said to only one.
