Leadership does NOT set realistic expectations, nor communicate clear goals, nor involve employees in any decision making processes.
Teamwork is not encouraged in this practice. People are encouraged to tell on each other for very small infractions.
Freedom to work independently
No, you are not trusted to work independently. You are monitored continually with cameras.
There are no meetings with employees where achievements are discussed. If you want to progress in your position, you MUST do this on your own.
Women are the majority in this practice, although they are NOT treated as equals.
Attitude towards older colleagues
This management prefers younger workers and does not value the majority of their older employees.
The veterinarians in this practice are required by law to participate in continuing education to retain their licenses. The employees, however, are not encouraged or supported in theirs.
Overall compensation for your work
The compensation is standard for this industry but a great deal of the benefits have been discontinued.
Office / Work Environment
The work environment is very pleasant as the building is only 2 years old. The only problem is the air conditioning and the computer system do not be adequate to support this large of a building.
No, there is no concern for the environment. The recycling is done in the dumpster.
No, you are NOT allowed overtime except in situations where scheduling was not done correctly and there are not enough people to cover a shift.
Not any longer. The reputation of this practice has suffered in the past few years due to mis-management.
There are NO jobs here who have any security. People have been terminated simply because someone who has limited power, didn't like them. You can be doing great one day and terminated without cause the next.
There is one ramp for access to the downstairs, but there are NO elevators available to the public.
The environment is compliant to OSHA, however, there is very limited to no training for safety.
My work was very challenging and I was proud of my production and contribution to this practice.
