Company Culture

Used to be good before the head of Portfolio Administration (M.Daley)

Support from management

There is none anymore. Loomis is a company that lost its glory.

Teamwork

The current supervisory team protects itself blaming staff for their mistakes. Every man for him/herself.

Freedom to work independently

There is no independent work. Supervisor staff is concerned with micro managing its workers while they abuse extended lunch breaks, leaving early, shopping on line or some that even watch pornographic content behind closed doors.

Internal Communication

Supervisors vs staff.

Gender Equality

While working there there have been rumors of sexual harrasment but it was quickly hushed by management.

Attitude towards older colleagues

There are many great people at Loomis but as I said those that have been there for many years but it all depends on the department. Operations and Portfolio Administrations is discriminating towards older operations staff.

Career Development

No advancement. People stay put for a very long time. Not a lot of room to move up.

Overall compensation for your work

Loomis underpays but demands more than that line justifies.

Office / Work Environment

The office for porfolio Administration is poor, cramped and laced with high tension. The work environment is hostile towards women, older employees and certain religious backgrounds. The work environment is hostile at Loomis.

Environmental Friendliness

they recycle.

Work-Life Balance

The Portfolio Admin director is a slve driver. Tells everyone to work overtime but he goes home early everyday. Pathetic.

Company Image

It used to be good.

Job Security

There is none unless you are supervisory level. They are the one's that often blame others to protect themselves.

Workplace Safety

There was a consolidation of operations. Three departments/floors were consolidated on one floor. Sometimes two to three people to a small office. Very few refrigerator that were never cleaned.

Challenging Work

It's mind numbing redundancy and an endless sea of paper generation, spreadsheet jockeying around poor technology. Then there is the big brother initiative that you should be wary of.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Fire human resources, fire the supervisory staff with more than 10 years on the job and fire the director of portfolio administration. He is a lawsuit liability.

What I like about the company

The bonus and 401K.

What I dislike about the company

Please see all commentary regarding operations supervisory staff.

Office / Work Environment

Company Image

They are great at projecting a wholesome image. They simply threaten everyone that speaks the truth about them.

Job Security

None at all except if you are male

Not sure

Workplace Safety

Hardly any when management allows people threatening women with violence.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Stop being such misogynists, hold men accountable for their behavior, don't bully people, don't extend people employment offers tell them to leave their current job and sell their home and move to another country only to at a later date reneg the job offer and say rather unemotionally we have decided to go in another direction

What I like about the company

It was lofated near the train station. Their toilets worked. They had a break room with microwaves

Company Culture

They are a great company to build a career with as most managers want you to be successful. They are fair to all employees. They are also very family-oriented and will accommodate individual needs where appropriate.

Support from management

In general the company is hands-off and you are free to build your own connections and rapport. Most long term employees like the independence, but some struggle as they constantly seek guidance. Most managers as great- helpful, supportive, positive, but there are a few bad apples here and there.

Teamwork

Depends on the department you work in... Most work collaboratively, and most employees are willing to help out when needed to get the job done.

Freedom to work independently

The company prides itself on letting you be who you want and do what you want. My guess is, they feel happy employees are more productive.

Internal Communication

The company takes great pride in its employees and overall performance. There are regular company updates.

Gender Equality

They look for the best workers- whether make or female.

Attitude towards older colleagues

The company looks for employees of all ages and takes great care of long term workers.

Career Development

The company is hands off and allows the employees to build their own career.

Overall compensation for your work

Salaries might not be as competitive as other comparable companies, but other benefits (insurance, bonus, 401K, and work life balance) are worth choosing this company over its competitors.

Office / Work Environment

The company is very systematic about making sure employees have updated equipment and are always working on improving in-house systems. They also take great care to keep the physical appearance of the building space looking great, and make sure the kitchen is stocked with coffee supplies for employees.

Environmental Friendliness

There are individuals who are dedicated to social awareness and communicate with employees.

Work-Life Balance

The company is excellent about allowing the workers to balance their work and home life. They take great care to make sure workers can be there for their families and are generous with benefits and time off.

Company Image

Most employees who have worked there for a few years understand how great this company is. There are some who "got stuck" in a position and grew to dislike the company because they weren't given a new position internally. The company truly cares for its employees.

Job Security

The company is strong and has performed well historically. There are always risks of an economic slowdown, but the company made sure to take care of its employees despite these slowdowns.

Handicapped Accessibility

The company is located primarily in a large office building with elevators and proper accommodations.

Workplace Safety

Yes.

Challenging Work

If you are a hard worker who strives to learn and become more, the work will find you and challenges will present themselves. The company seeks these type of workers and encourages them to grow.

Inclusive / Diverse

The company has an extensive review of ideas in which multiple groups take part to ensure a proper analysis.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Grow your equity assets under management so you will be more diversified.

What I like about the company

They were a large, stable firm who understood the importance of keeping their employers happy. Happy workers are more productive. They followed through with their intentions and promises and were reliable. They went to great lengths to make sure their employees have excellent benefits. They want each employee to succeed and grow. They recognize hard workers.

What I dislike about the company

There are a few bad apples in some positions. The company needs to not be afraid of holding them to the fire and making them accountable.
