Support from management
There was no structure within preferred groups. Everyone within the "in crowd" is allowed to move around as they please. To voice an opinion, you have to befriend management, which means engaging in nerve wrecking conversations about other employees at the daily lunch session, which at times will turn into ridiculing them.
Freedom to work independently
Everyone is left up to themselves to take part in job tasks. So if you don't feel like working too hard and would prefer talking all day that is an option. The more you keep everyone entertained by the gift of gab, the less work you have to do.
