One of a kind!!! I've Never worked for a company like this one...truly Unique
Support from management
Management is the biggest issue at Lucas Oil Products! It's a family owned business...meaning that positions are simply "created" for certain individuals. People are placed into management positions, even into Upper management positions; with absolutely NO experience, education, or basic management training!
At times, team work at Lucas Oil is Everything and people work well together for the most part. That is- If you can get someone to actually come help with whatever issue needs dealt with! The majority of the time, a Supervisor will be the one impeding production; by Standing at the end of the line, casually talking to team members, who aren't attentive to the line Lead or the issue at hand.
Freedom to work independently
Depends on the individual
Communication is lost in translation! The shear amount of company provided cell phones is ridiculous! Having them, along with two-way radios, emails, daily production meetings, And postings around facility...does NOT make communicating any better!
In No way, shape, or form is Lucas Oil a place that women can excell or advance within the company. Unless you marry into the family and have a position created specifically to accommodate you; equal opportunities do not exist at this company...No matter what!
Attitude towards older colleagues
Yes...but virtually anyone hired is connected in some way to someone already employed there. Hence why they're put in a position that's easier than most others.
Personal development within the company primarily depends on your connection within the company and if that connection is pertinent and valued in ways that most of the regular employees are not.
Overall compensation for your work
Benefits were excellent! Pay could be better
Office / Work Environment
Absolutely Not! The level of carbon dioxide emissions from the forklifts was at an evacuation state Several times, but the employees weren't evacuated or even told!!! They just opened a door, in the winter months to reduce the levels and that was it.
Like Everything at Lucas Oil...just because it appears to be a certain way, most definitely does Not mean that's the way it actually is.
Family is a BIG thing at Lucas because it's family owned...but things aren't always how they seem.
I once was very proud to work there...but then again, I found that things aren't always how they appear to be!
If you lose your job at Lucas Oil...your either a complete idiot OR you were targeted and eliminated.
Work is challenging for those willing to put forth the extra effort. Although the more you do, the more they expect. At the end of the day, hard workers are expected and allowed to do whatever is necessary to get the job done. All the while, allowing lazy employees to stand around and watch!

- It doesn't matter because they could careless what anyone says
What I like about the company
What I dislike about the company
Scandalous, plays favorites, discriminatory, people placed in positions they're not qualified for, etc.
